Circus Director: Johnny Blazes
Johnny Blazes recently returned to her hometown of Jamaica Plain with the intent to knock the stripey socks off of anyone who crosses her path. She was the founder of Oberlin College's entirely student-run venture, OCircus!, and directed the 95-person group for 3 years running. This summer she toured with a small cabaret-style circus with a cast and crew drawn from OCircus!'s ranks, and wowed audiences in Cleveland, Columbus, Detroit, New York, DC, Richmond, and Boston. She is known on the Boston drag and burlesque scenes for her genre-bending, gender-blending, tongue-in-cheek, in-one-nostril-and-out-the-other sense of humor. She is looking forward to helping shape The Madcap Rumpus Society's spring foray into darkness, drag, debauchery and happy-go-circus-times.
